Rule 44
Maternity leave

(1) If the wife of a male employee is about to give birth, such employee shall be entitled to take maternity care leave for fifteen days before or after the delivery.
(2) Employees on maternity leave will get full salary.
(3) Maternity leave will be granted only twice during the service period.
(4) An employee who has taken maternity care leave must submit the birth certificate of his wife or child to the office within three months from the date of taking the leave.
(5) The period of such leave of the civil servant who does not submit such certificate within the period as per sub-rule (4) shall be deducted from the other leave he is entitled to.
(6) The record of maternity care leave shall be updated by the secretariat.
